Ben got into plumbing at 16, trying to impress a girlfriend's dad. What kept him in it was the problem-solving: every job is a different puzzle. He's been licensed in both Texas and Louisiana and spent 14 years serving in the military. Originally from Dallas, Ben moved to south Louisiana after returning from his first deployment 20 years ago and never left. He and his wife raised three kids here - one currently serving in the Army and two UL Lafayette alumni.
Favorite part of the job: Solving problems and meeting everybody's pets
Tool he can't work without: His headlamp
Proudest plumbing moment: Teaching his daughters to change a toilet and clear a drain. Also, fixing slab issues without ever picking up a jackhammer.
Summer in an attic or winter under a house? Attic, every time. Ben does not do cold.
At home: Two miniature dachshunds - and he will ask to pet yours
Most asked question on a job: "What caused the stoppage?" Usual suspects: grease, egg shells, and toys.
Nathan started plumbing as a summer job in high school, then served 3.5 years in the military before coming back to the trade in May 2017. He liked being on a different site every day - sometimes two or three - and he liked working with his hands. Mostly, he likes people. He's from New Iberia, married, with one little one at home.
Favorite part of the job: Helping people get back up and running
Tool he can't work without: Small alligator pliers. He uses them for everything.
On continuing education: Genuinely enjoys it, especially learning new codes and the reasoning behind why they changed

Roan's plumbing career started young, during a hard freeze, helping his dad patch leaks under their house. As fast as they fixed one, another would spring. He came into the trade officially after finishing high school last year and recently completed plumbing school. He's 6'4" (yes, that's the question he gets most), and he's got a girlfriend and a German shorthaired pointer named Goose who's about to turn one.
Favorite part of the job: Seeing some of the worst pipes under a house and making them new again
Tool he can't work without: Channel locks
On continuing education: Plumbing school taught him the codes and requirements. Working alongside Ben and Nathan is teaching him the rest.
